Begin the fitness journey of a lifetime with Capital CrossFit.
We have a caring and knowledgeable staff. Members learn real skills, confidence is significantly improved and fitness gains are measurable. It’s a simple recipe, but it works! Oh, and there’s more, but you’ll have to stop in to see for yourself!
What is CrossFit?
CrossFit uses natural movements, and puts them into a constantly-varied high intensity program. Also, it’s delivered in a group atmosphere where everyone helps everyone else. It’s real and it keeps you going! And, after all, developing a fitness lifestyle is the real secret to sustainable success.
Is it dangerous?
No! The real issue is that CrossFit has gained a lot of momentum in a very short period of time. But that’s only because it works, and it’s sustainable. With rapid growth comes inexperienced trainers. However, inexperienced trainers isn’t a CrossFit thing; it’s everywhere! From martial arts instructors to personal trainers. Rest assured that at Capital we have experienced, helpful coaches who want to work with you and your goals.
Is it for me?
Yes. It’s for everyone. Kids, grandparents, competitive athletes…. It’s all about natural movements, to include standing, lifting, throwing and pulling. If you want to be better in life, then you want to join Capital today!
But I cannot do the workouts you post?
Consider the posted workouts the ultimate goal! Not the current reality. CrossFit wants you to measure your performance AND your progress. How is this possible unless we set “benchmarks.” If the ultimate goal is 10 strict pullups, and you can only do 1 with a very thick band to help you, then the next time you do that workout you can see if you’ve improved. Two with a thick band, and… success! Three the next time, combined with supportive coaches and training partners, and you’ll be telling your friends and family all about it.
Is it a cult?
Ha! When you are successful, over a long period of time, and it feels like fun, you’re going to start talking to your friends and family about it. That’s really all there is to say about that.
